Witchcraft and Astrology are gaining in popularity as life on this earth is becoming more difficult. When calamities come upon families, communities, even nations, the people need someone to turn to for help. They cannot cope with the situations confronting them on their own. Their leaders offer no solutions. They feel powerless, afraid and lost.
Instead of turning to the living God, Yahweh for strength , comfort and direction, they turn to the ones that God warns us not to have anything to do with.
These “alternate” methods of gaining insight into our problems and our future do not have the answers. They are deceptions of Satan to lead us away from the only One who has the answers to the perplexing problems of our lives: the Living God Yahweh.
Study the Bible texts provided below to see how God really regards those who practice witchcraft, astrology etc, and those who consult them, instead of Him.
Deuteronomy 18:9-12
When you enter the land the Lord your God is giving you, do not imitate the detestable customs of those nations.
No one among you is to make his son or daughter pass through the fire, practice divination, tell fortunes, interpret omens, practice sorcery,
cast spells, consult a medium or a familiar spirit, or inquire of the dead.
Everyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord, and the Lord your God is driving out the nations before you because of these detestable things.
Isaiah 47:9-15
These two things will happen to you
suddenly, in one day:
loss of children and widowhood.
They will happen to you in their entirety,
in spite of your many sorceries
and the potency of your spells.
You were secure in your wickedness;
you said, “No one sees me.”
Your wisdom and knowledge
led you astray.
You said to yourself,
“I exist, and there is no one else.”
But disaster will happen to you;
you will not know how to avert it.
And it will fall on you,
but you will be unable to ward it off.
Devastation will happen to you suddenly
and unexpectedly.
So take your stand with your spells
and your many sorceries,
which you have wearied yourself with from your youth.
Perhaps you will be able to succeed;
perhaps you will inspire terror!
You are worn out with your many consultations.
So let them stand and save you –
the astrologers, who observe the stars,
who predict monthly
what will happen to you.
Look, they are like stubble;
fire burns them up.
They cannot deliver themselves
from the power of the flame.
This is not a coal for warming themselves,
or a fire to sit beside!
This is what they are to you –
those who have wearied you
and have traded with you from your youth –
each wanders on his own way;
no one can save you.
Can your astrologer save you? Babylon relied on Astrologers. Babylon has been utterly destroyed.
Exodus 22:18
You must not allow a sorceress to live.
Malachi 3:5
I will come to you in judgment, and I will be ready to witness against sorcerers and adulterers; against those who swear falsely; against those who oppress the widow and the fatherless, and cheat the wage earner; and against those who deny justice to the foreigner. They do not fear Me,” says the Lord of Hosts.
God’s judgment against sorcerers.
1 Samuel 15:23
For rebellion is like the sin of divination,
and defiance is like wickedness and idolatry.
Because you have rejected the word of the Lord,
He has rejected you as king.
Rebellion is as witchcraft.
Micah 5:12-15
I will remove sorceries from your hands,
and you will not have any more fortune-tellers.
I will remove your carved images
and sacred pillars from you
so that you will not bow down again
to the work of your hands.
I will pull up the Asherah poles from among you
and demolish your cities.
I will take vengeance in anger and wrath
against the nations that have not obeyed Me.
God will remove practitioners of witchcraft.
Nahum 3:4-7
Because of the continual prostitution of the prostitute,
the attractive mistress of sorcery,
who betrays nations by her prostitution
and clans by her witchcraft,
I am against you.
This is the declaration of the Lord of Hosts.
I will lift your skirts over your face
and display your nakedness to nations,
your shame to kingdoms.
I will throw filth on you
and treat you with contempt;
I will make a spectacle of you.
Then all who see you will recoil from you, saying,
“Nineveh is devastated;
who will show sympathy to her?”
Where can I find anyone to comfort you?
God’s judgment on Ninevah.
2 Chronicles 33:6 & 7
He passed his sons through the fire in the Valley of Hinnom. He practiced witchcraft, divination, and sorcery, and consulted mediums and spiritists. He did a great deal of evil in the Lord’s sight, provoking Him.
Manasseh set up a carved image of the idol he had made, in God’s temple, about which God had said to David and his son Solomon, I will establish My name forever in this temple and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel.
Manasseh used wizards and witches.
Leviticus 19:31
Do not turn to mediums or consult spiritists, or you will be defiled by them; I am Yahweh your God.
Acts 13:6
When they had gone through the whole island as far as Paphos, they came across a sorcerer, a Jewish false prophet named Bar-Jesus.
A Sorcerer is false prophet.
Acts 16:16-18
Once, as we were on our way to prayer, a slave girl met us who had a spirit of prediction. She made a large profit for her owners by fortune-telling.
As she followed Paul and us she cried out, These men, who are proclaiming to you the way of salvation, are the slaves of the Most High God.”
And she did this for many days.
But Paul was greatly aggravated and turning to the spirit, said, I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her! And it came out right away.
Paul casts a demon out of a girl predicted the future for money.
Galatians 5:19-21
Now the works of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, moral impurity, promiscuity,
idolatry, sorcery, hatreds, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambitions, dissensions, factions,
envy, drunkenness, carousing, and anything similar. I tell you about these things in advance, as I told you before, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
Works of flesh, witchcraft etc. Those who practice these things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
Revelation 21:8
But the cowards, unbelievers, vile, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their share will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.
Those who practice magic arts will be cast into the lake of fire.
Revelation 22:14 & 15
Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life and may enter the city by the gates.
Outside are the dogs, the sorcerers, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices lying.
Sorcerers outside of Holy City. They are doomed.

Saul consulted the witch (Medium) at Endor instead of God. The woman was deceived by an evil spirit in the form of Samuel who deceived and controlled her. Saul’s question, “what does he look like?” is evidence he did not see the apparition himself.
