Hope, a beautiful word. And yet the lack of it can drive any human to despair or even suicide. So much of our illnesses, bad social behaviour and a myriad of other social malaises occur as we stumble through this life lacking meaning and hope. Not a pretty picture.

Sometimes we will gain a little hope, we see light at the end of the tunnel, only to have the light go out, and the vicious cycle starts again. No wonder many of us ask the question, “Is there any hope for me?”

The good news is yes! There is hope for everyone, regardless of who you are, and no matter how bad you think you are. The hope offered by God is for the poor, the rich, the fat, the thin, the criminal; it doesn’t matter.

We have to realise man cannot cure man’s problems. Our Leaders in government are terrified by what is happening around them. They don’t have any answers to the things falling upon this world. They just put on one bandaid after another, hoping things will sort themselves out. But, God doesn’t put on bandaids.

He offers us a concrete solution and cure for our problems. Our hope comes in knowing that we are God’s lost children. That He is continually searching for us , to bring us back into His kingdom.

John 3:16 & 17

For God loved the world in this way: He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.

For God did not send His Son into the world that He might condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.

There is our hope. There is something bigger than this world, and it is God’s kingdom.

Romans 15:4

For whatever was written in the past was written for our instruction, so that we may have hope through endurance and through the encouragement from the Scriptures.

We will find hope if we read the Scriptures. There God can speak to us and show us the way.

2 Thessalonians 2:16

May our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who has loved us and given us eternal encouragement and good hope by grace,

Titus 2:13

While we wait for the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Our blessed hope is that Jesus is coming back to take us from this world, and give us eternal life.

1 Peter 1:3

Praise the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. According to His great mercy, He has given us a new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

We can look forward to our inheritance which God has in heaven for us. Looking forward to something is what gives us great hope.

Romans 15:13

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you believe in Him so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

We can trust God to keep His word. He cannot break His word or lie. He has never let anyone down. He is there 24 hours a day 7 days a week watching over us, His children.

The Victory is Won

When the stress of life is felt
And heavily weighs upon the heart
There is someone to whom we can
Always come, and simply draw apart
He sees our hurt and knows so well
What it’s like to be alone
In anguish, He suffered on that cross
For us; All our sin to atone
Do you wonder at the love
That had to pay that price
For God well knew, only Jesus
His Son, could be that sacrifice
Now put aside your doubt and fear
Ask Jesus to be at your side
By trusting, feel his power uplifting
As you let Him be your guide
The victory is won….The debt erased
To counter Satan’s evil ploy
Opening the way….His name be praised!
Through our faith we share His joy
