There are many people today who say we are under Grace, not Law. That the Ten Commandments were nailed to the cross with Jesus, and abolished. Is this true according to the Bible?

The following study from the Scriptures makes the answer quite clear.

Exodus 31:18

The Ten Commandments were written by God personally. Not by man.

Exodus 40:20

The Ten Commandments were placed inside the Ark of the Covenant, under the Mercy Seat, which represented God’s throne. This action confirmed that they were as eternal as God’s throne.

Exodus 24:1-4 & Exodous 24:7 & 12

Moses wrote the Ceremonial Law.

Joshua 23:6

Joshua confirms Moses wrote the Ceremonial Law in a book.

Deuteronomy 31: 24-26

The Law of Moses was placed in the side of the Ark. Not inside the Ark. This action confirmed that the Law of Moses was temporary.

Colossians 2:14-17

The Law of Moses was a shadow of the reality; Jesus who was to come.

Hebrews 9:10-14

Jesus’ blood replaced the blood of goats and bulls. Jesus was the true sacrifice.

Romans 13:8-10

The Apostle Paul acknowledges that the Ten Commandments are still binding.

Acts 6:14

Jesus came to replace the Law of Moses.

Ephesians 2:15

Jesus abolished the Law of Moses

Matthew 27:50-53

The moment Jesus died the curtain in the Temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. This was done by the hand of God. The curtain was around eight inches thick; it could not have been torn by any man. It meant also that the people could now approach God on a personal level via Jesus. They no longer needed human priests or animal sacrifices.

Revelation 11:19

God’s Ten Commandments are still in His temple in Heaven.

Matthew 5:17 & 18

God’s Law (Ten Commandments) will stay in force until Jesus returns the second time.
